Today I wore my Diego Moreno t-shirt as I did my walk today. I reflected about him and his precious life. May God continue to watch over his mother, wife and all of his family. He's not forgotten...

July 22, 2020 - Two years of your absence... and as I said once, your absence became your presence. Your beautiful smile and your beautiful eyes are there daily, to remind me of your beautiful love and existence. Your soul is so intertwined with your Billin's and mine, that there are no minutes within the hour, or hours within the day when you are not present. But still, this presence, in your absence hurts. So much. I love you, son. Till the end of my days. Your momo... PFHR.

Dear Family of Diego, both immediate and extended brothers / sisters in uniform / plainclothes. I've moved to Snohomish County, WA just over a year ago. I was heartbroken when I saw this incident all over the local news. Right before my academy class started in 1981, an LA County Female Reserve Deputy (Connie Worland) was accidentally shot and killed by her full time partner. At my first assigned Sheriff's Station, a great Deputy and wonderful occasional partner of mine accidentally shot another Deputy (Darden Hollis) while shooting at a suspect. Anytime a cop accidentally kills another cop, the event is double tragic. My heart goes out to all involved. I went to the Kent PD yesterday to drop off an LASD uniform shoulder patch for Diego's young son. He collects LEO patches. It's just a token of my condolence and I hope this addition to his collection brings him a tiny moment of happiness. Love to all and thank you for your service and support.

I pray that everyone will find comfort in Revelation 21:4, where it says "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we can see all of our loved ones again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.
