Reflections for Police Officer II Bronson Kaimana Kaliloa

Please excuse my unintentional error left on my previous reflection. It should have read as follows. On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Bronson was killed in the line of duty.

To the Kaliloa family, fellow officers, and all who call Bronson beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Kaliloa gave to his community and the citizens of Hawaii and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 18th, 2018.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over seven years. I pray that Bronson's life and death will bring glory to God.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

I am terribly sorry for the loss of this officer to his family, friends, and co-worker. As a former resident of Hawaii, I know how close-knit the community is there and I feel personally sickened and saddened by this. May God grant this officer rest in His eternal grace. To his family: He did not die in vain and I am certain his fellow officers will be there for you. God bless.

You responded to a call,
A call that crossed our paths.
You’ve seen my past and judge not me. Giving the circumstances you helped me understand the situation I was in. In a time of my lows. I truly was grateful for. I will never forget the last name which holds such mana (power). Which couldn’t have been gifted to any other kanaka. I felt relieved and at peace after you left. I was touched by an angel God bless! RIP

My brother... I was so happy to see you again when our districts combined to work on the volcano detail. We talked almost the entire shift about our families and how much has changed since I initially left the district. Even when I told you that my family and I had to evacuate our home, you assured me that everything was going to be ok because God always had a plan.

I will always remember and love you my brother. I hope to see your smile when it’s my time to meet with you once again.
