Reflections for Trooper Samuel Newton Bullard

I supervised Sam and rode with him some while he was in training, and he was a fine young man, and was always cheerful when you seen him. He always had a smile and I never saw him get angry. He had a heck of a career and life ahead of him and now he is gone way too young. God Bless you E-532!

Love never dies. Although his life moves on, his love is our gift forever.

Rest easy, brother. You lived with us for a time, and now you live at the side if God. We'll see you soon.

I mourn each & every officer & rescue personnel that protect us each & every day, night & overnight. I will not watch or support any NFL team because of their blatant disregard for our brave & dedicated officers. I was shot on duty 9/02/74 & lost my career due to a felon who did not respect law officers. My wife & I pray for Officer Bullard's family & fellow officers.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I prepare my uniform tonight for this young Trooper's funeral tomorrow, I pray that somehow your love and grace can bring some comfort to Sam's fiancée, friends, fellow Troopers, other Law Enforcement brothers and sisters, community supporters and family. Although it will never be enough, I pray that his Patrol family, friends and community supporters can show how much he and his family are loved and appreciated. I did not know this young man but live and work near him and those I have spoken with tell me he is an outstanding young Trooper and an extraordinary young man. I firmly believe that everything happens in your time and for your reasons and though we may never know why you chose to bring this young man home so early in his life, our faith in your will and divine knowledge brings comfort to those who mourn the loss of their friend, brother, son, fiancée, other family member, neighbor, co-worker or unknown brother in the badge. Lord, thank you for your salvation and watch over Sam until we can all meet again...........AT HOME.
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit -Amen

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

In Honor of your Sacrifice and for your family and friends, I salute you as a HERO!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whose blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

May God watch over the family and fellow officers these heroes worked with. We can only imagine their pain. But we can sympathize with them and we must support them. This is what the Patriots and Heroes looks like folks. Running to the danger when all others run away from it. Selfless and fearless to the end. They now work heavens Beat. And are in God's hands forever. Ever watching down on us all.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all of our Law Enforcement, Military and All public service people. No matter the job we all do to keep our public safe or educate them we are all one tragedy away from leaving our mark on this earth. We will all grieve and hurt for those left behind. Our fallen officers, military and others who go before the rest of us will NEVER be forgotten and always will be honored as we move though our lives. We pray for all who have been effected by the loss of this fine angel so that each of us can find peace to move through our new normal life. We will be there for each other and hold each other up when we cannot seem to move forward. May this beautiful angel dance with the other angels that have gone before us and make a place where we will all meet again. RIP. Trooper, We will all carry your honor from here on.
