The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Casey you will be remembered for your hilarious jokes and "trooper envy."

I will never forget the laughs we shared at Ricks-C Store. I remember spending many nights car to car with you while you worked in Eldon.

Then when you switched to Miller County, I remember how excited you were.

You were a good friend, and a great cop.

You will be missed.

A Prayer for Deputy Sheriff Casey L. Shoemate:

Lord God, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Deputy Sheriff Casey L. Shoemate, of the Miller County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the county and state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. For Scripture says: God blesses those who work for peace for they will be called the children of God ; there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends; I [Jesus] assure you, today you will be with me in Paradise, and; God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Thus, in our life, may Deputy Sheriff Casey L. Shoemate live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen

We have your patrol from here, Deputy Sheriff Casey L. Shoemate. Rest easy, our Brother-in-Blue, you are now in the hands of the Lord God.
