Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Terrence Scott O'Hara

Lord Jesus, as we watch our nation’s brave law enforcement officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the law enforcement officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4 ESV]

I pray that everyone will find comfort in Revelation 21:4, where it says "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we can see all of our loved ones again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.

Your heroism and service is honored today, and I am honored to be among the first to leave a reflection on your page. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. You were such a young officer when 9/11 happened and your life here was so short...yet you left such an impact. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourns with them.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. We shall never forget our 9/11 heroes.

Rest In Peace
