Reflections for Police Officer Greggory Casillas, V

Still in our memories, RIP.

Three years ago today you lost your life. On March 11,2018 my godmother received a liver transplant. I’m not positive but I do believe that it was your family’s compassionate donation of your organs that saved my godmothers life. Today I was not looking for your memorial page, your memorial page found me and it found me today, the anniversary of your untimely passing. The same “coincidence” happened two years ago. I’m sorry your life was cut short. I pray for your wife and children. I hope that you are still with them, watching over them. And if by chance you were the donor of my godmothers liver, thank you for saving her.
I will never forget when her surgery was over the doctor came to talk to our family in the waiting room. He said “the liver started working right away” and “she got a very special liver”.

The day that Officer Casillas moved on was a sad one in all of our lives. From working in the Jails and now in the LASD sheriff's academy I understand what type of monsters Officer Casillas had to deal with. These life long criminals have no idea the negative impact they have on the community and society.
Officer Casillas gave his life for the great good and also for the great of his community in Pomona and also for all citizens in the United States. Being a peace officer is definitely not an easy just. And I am sure that Officer Casillas knew what he was getting into and he still did it because of whatever reasons he saw fit.
I can only imagine how hard it is for his family to still not see him walk through those doors every day, but I am sure Officer Casillas wouldn't want them to miss him as much as he would want them to remember his legacy. He was a great man who fought hard for what he believed in and ultimately gave his life for the cause. This story also hits me very closely because I have two young children as well and I could only dream of how bad I would miss my boys and my wife. But, just as I am sure Officer Casillas would want his family to stay positive, so would I. Remeber his smile and all of the good times you had with him, and remember the impact that he made on the community that he served. He was a man, but more importantly he was a peace officer.

It’s always tragic to hear about peace officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities. The passing of Pomona Police Officer Greggory Casillas, was extremely shocking. It made it even more shocking to me when I found out Officer Casillas was only 6 months into his career and still in field training. His tragic death is, unfortunately, a real eye opener to the dangers this job entails. Officer Casillas will always be remembered as a true hero. Despite being a fairly new officer, he performed his duties with courage and strength. He put his safety aside in order to protect his community and in doing so he laid down his life to perform his duties. I would like to thank Officer Casillas for his service and for the dedication he had to serve his community. His family lost a true hero but he will always be up above watching over them.

I hope that everyone can find comfort in Revelation 21:4 where it says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we see him again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Greggory was killed in the line of duty.

To the Casillas family, fellow officers, and all who call Greggory beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you. In reading the many reflections left for you, I can see what an impact you made on so many people.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Casillas gave to his community and the citizens of California and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 9, 2018.

The paradigm what is society does not understand that today’s Law Enforcement Officer is an ever evolving position and is expected to be perfect yet when it does not meet expectations it gets lambasted. LEO’s don’t come from a special planet they are only human yet this man actions and bravery makes me believe they do...

Deepest condolences to Family, Department and Friends. Visit the web site ImagineHeaven.net for a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting. All law enforcement men and women indeed qualify as "Foxhole Christians" with their duty dangers. As Ray Comfort at LivingWater.com says "Passing is the doormat they wipe their feet on before entering Heaven.” It is our belief they will hear from the Lord Himself. “Do not fear. for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:12).
