R.I.P. Officer Casillas. Never got the chance to meet you or work with you, but by the looks of all the people who care about you and respect you, it shows that you were a great officer. With not much time on the department you managed to make a difference and actually over achieve as an Officer. Wish we would have more officers like you who truly go above & beyond for their job & duty. I hope your family will be able to recover quickly from this tragedy & your fellow partners. God Bless.

Dear family of Officer Greggory Casillas,

I cannot begin to describe in words, how deeply saddened I was, to learn of the loss of Officer Casillas. I know any offer of condolence at this so very difficult time is inadequate and any words I offer cannot stem the overwhelming grief, you and your family must be feeling.

I will instead offer to you these few thoughts. I never had the honor of knowing Officer Casillas, although I know he was the type of man who’s love of his family, Community and Nation shone brilliantly and clearly. I also know the beauty of his spirit was clearly evident. It always is with the men and women who risk all to protect us from evil.

I know that I, and my own family and friends who never knew your family or Gregory are saddened and diminished at the news of his passing. I know those lucky few who knew and worked with him are devastated by his loss. Please know now, that strangers also morn your loss.

We do not know why God allows bad things to happen to such a good man, but I believe the Lord was there, with Greggory, as he crossed to the other side. I believe Greggory is with Him now, and is happy in His radiant eternal love. I also believe the Lord is with you and your family now and will be, always.

My wish for you, and for your family is:
May the ache in your heart ease. May the love of your family and friends sustain you. May the cherished memory of Gregory , his love and beautiful spirit, bring you peace.

My prayer for you, and for your family is this:
May the Lord bless you and keep you: May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
With profound sadness and respect,
Joe Rabe and Family,

Watch your six, stand your ground
Fight like hell, if you are ever knocked down
As bold as a lion, as gentle as a lamb
Back your buddy, if he is in a jam
First in the charge, last in the retreat
Keep a watchful eye, every day on your beat
The horrors you face, the dreams that haunt your sleep
The thin blue line, keeping the wolf from the sheep
Always in the yellow, never in the white
Standing in the vanguard, doing what is right
The gentle warrior, the righteous knight
Stay the course, fight the good fight
On duty or off, keep your tools at your side
Pray you never need them, and if you do may God be your guide
Until He takes your gun, and says, "Enter in and rest"
Always be on guard, always do your best

Thank you for your honorable service. You chose to act brave when it needed to be called upon.
Rest in peace.
