We have lost a great citizen soldier, and a great man. Brevard County deputies are special because they genuinely care for the people whom they serve and protect. That makes them all special to us, and it hits all of us on the Space Coast especially hard when one of our brave, courageous deputies is lost.

Our Lord God reserves a special place in Heaven for those people who rush headlong into danger to protect us from that danger, with only a tiny shield to protect them. I know that Deputy Stanton will be in that special place in Heaven, receiving his reward from God Himself.

Though we may mourn his loss, we can also rejoice because Deputy Stanton was a good and faithful servant. We will always remember the good things Deputy Stanton did for the people he served and loved. We will never forget.

Mr. Paul Gray
Resident of Brevard County

A Prayer for Deputy Sheriff Kevin Stanton:

Lord God, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Deputy Sheriff Kevin Stanton, of the Brevard County, Florida Sheriff’s Office, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the county and state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. For Scripture says: God blesses those who work for peace for they will be called the children of God ; there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends; I [Jesus] assure you, today you will be with me in paradise, and; God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Thus, in our life, may Deputy Sheriff Kevin Stanton live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.
