It not only saddens me, but sickens me to read where a motorist, who is driving too fast and inattentively, strikes down one of our beloved peace officers doing his job on the streets.

Every LE department needs to purchase a crash vehicle that is positioned in front of an accident as to block the pathway to LE officers, EMT, and Fire personnel. Mandatory LE w/ lights lite up 1/2 mile from Emergency Vehicles on shoulder would help.

What is the price of just 0ne (1) LE officer like Lieutenant Christopher Robateau worth? I say, allot

Add up all the LE officers who have been needlessly killed on our nations roadways for 2016, 17 & now 18, working an accident scene and struck down by a careless motorists.

There has to be something done to give our men & Women in blue more protection from the general public who need to SLOW DOWN before reaching an accident scene or Emergency Vehichle. This kind of loss of life needs to be curtailed.

Thank You
