Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Zackari Spurlock Parrish, III

A Prayer for Deputy Sheriff Zackari Parrish:

Lord God, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Deputy Sheriff Zackari Parrish, of the Douglas County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. Thus, in our life, may he live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God." [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

"Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends." [John 15:13 ESV]

“And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 EVS]

As a Retired Military Combat Veteran Paratrooper, all the men and women of Law Enforcement/Fire/EMS are our brothers and sisters. These people protect all our lives daily. Not sure what made my military comrade commits this senseless and selfish act. Much love and respect to all the above agencies as we all serve to protect our great nation. My deepest condolences and respect go towards this officer and all who protect us daily. May God bless him and all who serve.

To the family/co-workers/friends, I am so very sorry for your loss, just truly sorry. It is terrible that our blue line family must suffer this way. I am so sorry that heroes must lose their lives. But I am so grateful if the time comes they willingly do it. The police in this great country make all of our lives so much better. God speed deputy now you walk a beat in heaven.
