Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A “uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

For Trooper Michael Paul Stewart III:

The duties of the law-officer on patrol are many, and among the risks is driving in traffic. A fatal crash might be seemingly routine to some, but it is deeply sorrowful to those close with anyone losing their life in such a tragic mishap.

The news of this horrific crash brings us to reckoning with the actuality that Mike did the same job that each of us does - or has done, and it makes the situation profoundly more lucid. We realize we have survived only because fate has been kinder to us.

We regret that Mike would befall this tragic situation that profoundly depicts that a normal tour-of-duty can end with the hearts of many sad and broken.

We pray for Mike's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him, as his life ended far too early.

We proudly render Trooper Michael Stewart, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza, (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police
