Once again one of "Blue's best" has fallen in a senseless, horrific shooting. I emphasize best from the many reports I am receiving from Jackson County residents about Lt. Weatherford's exemplary character, one well deserving to wear the badge. May the Lord bless the family, fellow officers, and friends as you face the days ahead. Another police officer has been taken from us all too soon. Lieutenant Patrick Weatherford was killed while he was performing a traffic stop. His family, the community, and the police department he worked for all mourn his passing. Another name will be added to the wall of fallen police officers in Washington, DC.
