R.I.P. BROTHER Floyd!!!

Nebraska Police Officer

This is extremely tragic for our Correctional Officer Brotherhood and those that have trained tirelessly in Tactical Hostage Recovery.

On behalf of the third shift of the Federal Bureau of Prisons at MDC Los Angeles regardless of our distance across this entire country to you and your team at the Delaware Dept of Corrections, we mourn with you.

We humbly and wholeheartedly expect to recognize the pre incident conditions that precipitated this horrible incident so we can honor Steve to ensure we are fully trained and recognize where we can do better in our training to respond to an incident that may happen and has happened within this agency.

Tonights briefing was dedicated to Sgt Steve Floyd and the hostages of the Vaughn complex.

Lieutenant Fitzgerald
Federal Bureau of Prisons

Rest in peace, Sergeant. You did not die in vain- your life mattered. It mattered, and matters now, and always will matter- more than the lives of the people who murdered you. Your name lives on forever in Valhalla.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Thank you your service. It really takes a special type of person that is willing to take on a career of this magnitude. We serve without a weapon on our side and continue to face the dangers everyday. The people we are sworn to safe guard inside the walls are the same ones that will take our life.

With knowing this will still continue to do the job!

Rest In Peace my fellow brother.
