Trp. Weaver, thank you for your service and sacrifice to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

To the friends, family, and fellow officers if Trp. Weaver, I hope these words bring you peace.

"....I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

A. Lincoln"

Words , I find, can be so much more expressive if part of a song:
NO MAN'S LAND (THE GREEN FIELDS OF FRANCE)
(ERIC BOGLE) (1976)
Well, how'd you do, Private "Willie McBride," [any man]
D'you mind if I sit down down here by your graveside?
I'll rest for awhile in the warm summer sun,
Been walking all day, Lord, and I'm nearly done.
I see by your gravestone you were only nineteen
When you joined the glorious fallen in 1916,
I hope you died quick and I hope you died "clean,"
Or, Willie McBride, was it slow and so mean?
CHORUS:
Did they beat the drum slowly, did they sound the fife lowly?
Did the rifles fire o'er ye as they lowered ye down?
Did the bugles sing "The Last Post" in chorus?
Did the pipes play the "Floors1 O' The Forest"?
And did you leave a wife or a sweetheart behind
In some faithful heart is your memory enshrined?
And, though you died back in 1916,
To that loyal heart are you forever nineteen?
Or are you a stranger, without even a name,
Forever enshrined behind some glass pane,
In an old photograph, torn and tattered and stained,
And fading to yellow in a brown leather frame?

Well, the sun's shining down on these green fields of France;
The warm wind blows gently, the red poppies dance.
The trenches have vanished long under the plow;
No gas and no barbed wire, no guns firing now.
add'l verses

TROOPER, At Ease and enjoy the red poppies' dance
RIP and may God forever hold you close by, Landon

Today A Hero Was Laid To Rest.

Today a Hero was laid to rest.

Ribbons and badge upon the chest,  uniform perfectly pressed.

Brothers and sisters gathered there to pay respects and share a prayer.

The Thin Blue Line as it's commonly known, but the uniforms are all colors...grey, blue, black, green and brown.

All at attention as the Hero travels past.  Saluting the latest but seemingly never the last.

In support of each other and the Hero's loved ones left to grieve.

Trying to make sense of what they don't want to believe.

The Hero's family is left now to wonder how to move on.

The Hero would tell them that although I am gone rest assured I will be with you and tomorrow there will still be a dawn.

But know that the Hero was answering a calling.  As they say "doing the job" for
blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Rest well Hero...those loved ones, family and friends you left behind will carry on for you and never forget.

Signed,
An Anonymous Fellow Brother.

Trooper Weaver you are a great hero in my eyes. You gave your life trying to save the life of another person. Today, policemen are not appreciated like they most definitely deserve.

Rest In Peace Trooper Landon Weaver, you will always remain in our prayers. We saw you working tirelessly to make society a better place but that was no to be. With tearful eyes we sadly saw your loving and selfless heart stop beating. Even though your sudden and untimely early death tearfully breaks our hearts, it proves to us God's desire to take for himself one of his and our very best.
On a personal note, you graduated the Academy with my best friends son thus causing your personal sacrifice to become a very deep wound in my/our hearts which will remain with us forever.
