Eric was my best friend and brother. He was always over at the house or he and my family would get together. We went on trips and was planning one for after the first of the year. Eric was a great man, deputy, father to an awesome little girl named Shelby, but above all I called him brother.

Deputy Sheriff Oliver, thank you sir for your service. What a tragedy to be struck and killed by a vehicle. The citizens of the Great State of Florida are mourning their loss. The subject who fled will hopefully be located. We will keep your family and Department in our thoughts. Please watch over us as we carry on.
