Dear Dennis:

240 years ago, a group of men set up a government that guarantees it’s citizens life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Founding Fathers made it abundantly clear that no American shall live in fear, and find safe refuge in his own home. But to ensure those ideals and principles, a group of guardians would be needed to step up. And so was born law enforcement officers. And you stepped up to the call to protect those who cannot protect themselves from the cry of the wolf at the door.

Over 20,000 of our beloved law enforcement officers have made the supreme sacrifice to ensure our fellow countrymen they will enjoy those freedoms given to us so many years ago. Thank you, Dennis for giving all you had to give. I am certain that as you entered the Gates of Heaven, Almighty God said, “Well done, Dennis. Welcome home”.

And to Dennis’ family; to his Mom, thank you for the pain and sacrifice you endured to have Dennis, and the dedication to raise him right, to care for his fellow man. To his wife; I can only say that on Thanksgiving Day, I WILL say a prayer for you and your children, asking God’s blessing and help to heal your broken heart. To his kids, know that your Dad is A HERO. NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE, can ever take that from you. Your Dad epitomized what a real American is…someone who is willing to stand up for others, even though they get walloped in doing so.

And to my fellow Americans who might read this, just give one minute of your busy life, to thank Almighty God for your law enforcement officers AND their families, for the sacrifice they make so that you can sleep safe at night, and your family secure. “For the candle of the wicked shall be put out forever”.

Rest in peace my brother, we have the watch.

Lake Mary Police, Fl.

My condolences to the family of Deputy Sheriff Dennis Wallace. Losing a loved one is difficult. Please try to take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where he said that there would be a resurrection. Just think of the time when you will see your loved ones again, in paradise conditions, here on earth. Once again, my deepest sympathy to all that knew Deputy Wallace.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over five years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

Dennis was a great guy and was loved and cherished by all that knew him. I had the pleasure of knowing him through DARE, when he officiated my sons football games, working at Modesto PD with his brother (Dave) and while taking college classes together. A devastating loss.
