Reflections for Police Officer Lesley Marie Zerebny

May GOD be with your family and strengthen them and comfort them at your loss Officer Zerebny. You will be missed but your service will be greatly appreciated by many in your city. Your child will grow up admiring you for your service and dedication as it grows up, One day you will all be reunited in Heaven and we know you will be watching over your family until that day. GOD bless you..

So sorry to hear of yet another two deaths in the law enforcement family. When a person whose sole purpose is to protect any and every member of the community they serve is killed in the commission of that duty, everyone suffers. My heart goes out to the families of these brave and selfless officers, and my hope is that everyone who knew them can move past the tremendous pain and remember the wonderful job they did on a daily basis. Their sacrifice is never in vain.

Oh Father God, please bless these two police officers who lost their lives today and their families. Help their loved ones through their grief. Cause their needs to be met. Make all their worries be answered by your provisions. Please surround them with your loving care and carry them through this time in your strong arms. Make them know it was not for nothing. Give them hope and faith in you and make them trust in you forever.
Thank you Lord.

My heart is ripped out. I am sorry you made this ultimate sacrifice. I've been around LEOs since birth and have been to many LEO funerals, all murdered but two. For me to say "Thank you for your service and sacrifice" is not enough. If I could trade my life for yours, I would. I will not allow you to be forgotten, my hero. "Until Valhalla." God has a special place for His heroes.

God Bless you Sister. You made the ultimate sacrifice and so very needlessly. Though you left a hole in the Palm Springs PD roster, the hole you left in so many lives can never be filled. Especially that of your innocent child who will never know the touch of your hand or your caress. A dirty filthy meaningless object posing as a human denied you child that. I know in my heart that all of those you have left behind will teach your child about how special you are.

God Bless and may you live forever in the hearts and minds of those who know and love you best and all who come after. Rest in Peace.

My heart goes out to those brave LEOs and their families. My oldest boy is a Sheriff and soon to be in the RCMP. Even though I'm a retired Soldier, every time he rucks up and goes on duty, I worry, as is a fathers prerogative. God bless all who wear the uniform of the police and May God have a special place for these two brave souls.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

This is so unbelievable: the loss a young police officer starting her career and a senior police officer with 35 years of service on the verge of retirement. I know that both officers are with God Almighty, walking the heavens with Jesus Christ, beholding the community they served with dedication, integrity, and honor.
