Reflections for Police Officer Lesley Marie Zerebny

Words cannot express my sorrow over your loss. I lived in California for 25 years and was protected every moment of my time there by the thankless job police officers do. I must believe in a better place than an earth where tragedies like this take place. That's the only way I can make sense of this.

Please send my gratitude to your surviving officers who will continue to protect and serve. "You guys are truly special people, angels who walk among us."

Officer Zerebny,

I thank you for the services you given to the community, sadly it was all cut short. You had the courage and strength not many other females would have, to even sniff the line of duty you took.

What really breaks my heart and brings me to tears, is that you have a 4 month old child that will never get the chance to call you "mommy".

My prayers go out to your family at home, your friends, and the Palm Springs Police Department.

We have truly lost 2 heroes who were beloved and honored as police officers. I had the pleasure of working briefly with Officer Zerebny and my heart hurts for the brothers and sisters of the Palm Springs Police Department as well as the members of the slain officer's families.

While not knowing either officer, I am left with a sad heart as I read the words of the passing of them. All who serve, along with their families and friends, deserve more than this in their end. May their next journey be healed with peace.

People die every day and the world goes on like nothing happened. But when it’s a person you love, you think everyone should stop and take notice. That they ought to cry and light candles and tell you that you’re not alone.”
― Kristina McMorris, Letters From Home
To everyone left behind by Lesley. I want to tell you. You are not alone. I feel your pain. I'm not an officer, I'm not an american, but a human life has been lost. A life that cared for others, that protected others and in the end gave her life so that others could live. That kind of sacrifice eccoes around the world and have now reached me. I offer my deepest sympathies and respect for her and her fellow officer. May they rest in piece. Sincerely Rune

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

My condolences to the family of Police Officer Lesley Zerebny. Losing a loved one is difficult. Please take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where he said that there would be a resurrection. Just think of the time when you will see your loved ones again, in peaceful conditions, here on earth.
