From what I've heard Sgt. Owen was a prime example of what a peace officer should be; a public servant dedicated to serving his community and making it a little better everytime that he went 10-8. The law enforcement community was robbed of a great deputy. Sgt. Owen will be remembered and continue to be a role model for young recruits and deputies. My condolences go out to your family. RIP sir.

The AV suffered a great lost. You were a great mentor and role model. I never had the privledge of meeting you, but the people I’ve talked to always had positive things to say about you. You dedicated time with the community, especially the youth. I hope one day when I reach patrol in Palmdale/Lancaster Im able to give back to our community the way you did. Thank You

As I marched up the green mile today I watched preparations being made for a class to graduate this night who will continue a tradition of service set forth over a hundred years ago. A tradition you upheld and gave your all for. As I think to complain about the pain in my calf and the weight on my back, I think about how you would give anything to trade places with me. I will do all that I can to take advantage of the opportunity sacrifices like yours have given me. I will strive to live in a way that will honor your sacrifice and uphold the traditions of service and commitment to life as you have. Gone but never forgotten.
