It breaks my heart every time a brother or sister Officer is killed in the line of duty. This year, even though there is overall less Officers who have forfeited their lives in the line of duty, there is almost a 100% increase in those who have died by Gunfire. Be safe my brothers and sisters.
Officer Tim Brackeen was another fine veteran Officer who has been murdered in the line of duty leaving behind a wife and daughter to mourn for him as well as all his many friends and brothers and sisters in Blue. Go with God Tim, you have served your community well. You will never be forgotten nor will your wife and daughter.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Shelby Police Department. Our country is much less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

Officer Brackeen knew the dangers of his job yet, every day he put on his uniform and went to do his job as he both wanted and was sworn to do.

My prayers are with his family, colleagues and his community who have sacrificed so much for a great LEO.

God Speed to all of those effected by this tragedy.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

A Prayer for Police Officer Tim Brackeen:

Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Tim Brackeen, of the Shelby, North Carolina Police Department, was taken from us suddenly and violently in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Tim Brackeen, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
