To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 153rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

To murder a Law Enforcement Officer who is simply trying to break up an unruly mob is so disturbing and disgusting and yet, in some respects, this has been the norm for centuries and this is tragic.

Constable Unger, we can only hope and pray that your murderer faced true justice, if not in this world, then in the next.

I am glad that your sacrifice has finally been recognized after all these years.

God Bless you and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful, Brother.
