My thoughts and prayers go out to the family Corporal Cooper and to his extended family at his sheriff's dept.. I had the pleasure of getting to meet Corp. Cooper and each time he had a smile on his face. Even though we worked for not only different agencies, but we were also different states (border each other) he told me both times I met him that if me or my department needed anything to let him know and he would come running. God Bless you Corp. Cooper and enjoy patrolling those golden streets!

Corporal Cooper, thank you sir for your service. To be murdered by a coward with a rifle is a scenario we all dread. You responded knowing the killer was armed. What a high risk call. Still you paid with your life. Hopefully the coward gets what he has coming to him after his trial. We will keep your family and Department in our thoughts. Please watch over us as we carry on.

A Prayer for Corporal Bill Cooper:

Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Corporal Bill Cooper, of the Sebastian County, Arkansas Sheriff's Office, was taken from us suddenly and violently in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Corporal Bill Cooper, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
