To the Family of Deputy Sheriff Brad Garafola

Times like this can be very difficult so pray constantly. Philippians 4:6-7 admonishes us to throw our anxiety on our Heavenly Father, he in turn will strengthen you and place peace upon your mind and heart.

Also keep in mind what we are told at Revelation 21:3-4. God promises us that he will do away with everything that causes tears of sorrow. Imagine death, pain and suffering being done away with. Only tears of joy when we welcome our loved ones back to a paradise earth. What a joy it will be to experience this promise soon.

Once again, my condolences to the family.

To the Brad Garafola family: I know I speak for tens of thousands of U.S. Marines when I say that we're heartsick that your precious loved one's life was taken by a person who once wore, and has now disgraced, the eagle, globe and anchor of our Corps. We pray that the five of you will find solace and lasting pride in knowing that, even after Brad's service to country, he continued to upheld the highest traditions of our beloved Marine Corps. God must have an extraordinarily important mission for Brad as both a Marine and a peace officer. Indeed, as the Marines' Hymn proclaims, Brad is no doubt now providing invaluable service "guarding Heaven's scenes." And by choice, he is surely pulling "double duty" as he also lovingly watches over you, his fellow Marines, and his brothers and sisters in blue. Brad is the epitome of what's meant by the Corps' motto, "Semper Fidelis" (always faithful). I look forward to the honor of meeting him one day as he checks me aboard.
