The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them;
because they take refuge in him.

Being a police officer and a veteran, most things don't come as a shock to me. Knowing the very real evil that exists out there in the world that tends to feed on the innocent and hide among them, it's an every day thing. But today I'm sad. I am praying for their families, along with yours sir. This is a very deep blow, my heart has broken for you and your families. We will get through this. We know that we will continue on. Protecting everyone, even the ones that hate us. Protecting those who cannot protect theirselves. Serving our brothers and sisters on a day to day basis, not caring that any one is watching or trying to get a reward, but just that feeling that maybe you just helped that one person and helped change their day to being a little better. It's our calling, it's in our DNA. We meet an obstacle and push through. I know that this hurt, deep hurt, will for some never fade. I pray for them. But I promise you will live forever in our minds and hearts: You will never be forgotten. God bless you all and your families.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of the fallen in Dallas, the department, and the families. As a native Texan from the area, this tragedy hits home for me. I pray for the officers who lives were taken away for no reason other than hate. May God be with them all.

No words can express the heaviness of heart that all your sisters and brothers of blue are feeling.
Know that your death was not in vain and your families of blue and red blood alike will be taken care of.
If not by the community, then by your family of blue and their families. We are oh so great in numbers, and United, not only in size, but in loyalty, and in love.
So know you were loved in life and will be so in death.
We love you, respect you, appreciate you, your bravery and sacrifice.
Rest now my brother, our active brothers and sisters of blue have it from here.
God Speed!

A Prayer for Police Officer Patrick Zamarripa:

Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Patrick Zamarripa, of the Dallas, Texas Police Department, was taken from us suddenly and violently in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Patrick Zamarripa, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]

Brother, you're a hero. Clearly, we run towards danger. That's what we are here for. Thank you sir, for putting your life for others, and showing this great nation that we Law Enforcement Officers, from the streets to the prisons, from the mountains to the sea, from Hawaii to Puerto Rico, you and your fallen brothers showed everybody that even people criticize us, we protect them even giving our life.
