Deputy Michel;

I read this horrible story and I can't help feeling somewhat guilty. I served the people of the State of Florida for 35 years, as a Deputy Sheriff, Police Officer, Detective and as a Sergeant. Myself having survived a shooting, I thank and ask Almighty God why He spared me, yet so many, too many of my fellow brothers and sisters in blue are not. I only know this;
You will ALWAYS be a member of the Thin Blue Line, and one of America's Heroes. Your service will not be forgotten. Like us all, we answer the cry of the wolf at the door, and too many of Americans take for granted the sacrifice we AND our families make for them.
My Almighty God hold you close to His heart, and as you patrol the streets of Heaven, I am certain St. Peter said to you, "Welcome Home, Dave".
