You were a man, though no ordinary man. You took an oath and wore a badge. You became a hero to many. In my eyes any person who runs into the darkness to free those in distress in a hero....... The ability to make people smile by voice or presence is a gift indeed. The death of any officer, regardless length of service, leaves a tragic hole in the heart of any department. Someday, we will be able to heal that hole with just a brief, fleeting thought of you. And, you will once again make us smile.

A Prayer for Police Officer Endy Ekpanya:

Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Endy Ekpanya, of the Pearland, Texas Police Department was taken from us suddenly and violently in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Endy Ekpanya, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we ask that you grant us a deeper appreciation for the efforts of all law enforcement officers and officials in our communities, states, and nationwide. For their dedication to our security, order and peace, we give You thanks. May they be encouraged in their work which benefits us ALL. Help us to grow that spirit of community that will make their job both easy and fulfilling. And now may our fellowship together and Your blessing upon them bring a renewed sense of partnership and joy for all of us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

There are no words that I can express regarding the feelings I have for the loss of this fine officer. Officer Ekpanya always had a smile on his face and was always respectful and professional to all that he dealt with. I pray for his family, his two year old son, his fiancee, and his fellow officers. May the days to come, they find comfort and piece. RIP Endy!
