My dear Brother James,
Please forgive me as I have no idea how I missed your passing. It seems like yesterday when we were on patrol together. I will never forget the day on Canal Street when you observed the man with a gun or the time we stopped that young lady who was driving after she consumed to much fun. My fondest memory will always be when we had that great chat with the flight crew of the British Airways flight when they were gathering their luggage in front of the hotel on Lexington Avenue. I had to work hard to keep from laughing when that beautiful stewardess mentioned something about peanuts. You were a great cop and anyone who worked with you knew you were a wonderful partner. You will always be in my memories, heart and prayers. We will meet again my brother during a roll call in heaven someday.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
