In Honor of your Sacrifice and for your family and friends, I salute you as a HERO! May God
Give the family and friends the strength and faith to deal with this tragic loss. Words can not express my sorrow!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Sean was killed.

To the Johnson family, fellow officers, and all who call Sean beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Johnson gave to his community and the citizens of Ohio, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 19, 2016.

I am so proud to be your sister. I see all of the respect and love your fellow brothers of the badge have for you. Mark and I are really having a hard time with mourning you. Mommy is as well but you know how she is. She's the strongest woman we know. She's being strong and keeping Mark and I strong. I hate that we don't have anything of yours to remember you by. Not that we need it. We have a lifetime of memories. It just would have been nice to have something of yours to keep forever. REST IN PEACE MY BELOVED BABY BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over five years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

To the Family of Police Officer Sean R. Johnson

My deepest condolences to the family. Losing someone so close to us is very difficult. May all who are touched from this loss read Revelation 21:3-4. It is comforting to know that God will soon remove everything that causes tears of sorrow. Imagine death, pain and suffering being done away. Only tears of joy when we welcome our loved ones back to a paradise earth. What a joy it will be to experience this promise.

May you find comfort in God's promise.

Dear Almighty God. We know You Need Your Best Soldiers in the battle for Heaven.

There is perhaps no greater gift to the world than making it a better place before one leaves it. We thank you for that gift and we honor and celebrate your life as we know our tears sadden you as you look down to us.

Please let us pray for those that will never know the love we will always have and please let us pray for those that will never have, the memories we have made.

With all respect and prayers.
