I have been going to the Police memorial since 2011 and it is a very hard thing to see due to all the amounts of Police Ofice'r's who have been killed in the line of duty. Hopefully Police officer's have to respond to certain calls to help the citizern's that we are entrusted to protect them and make sure that there families are taken care of.

AWH!!! Mi Mijo, my Baby boy....There are no words that I can express the hole I have now and forever!! I know the hole is bigger than anyone can imagine. The hole is more than just a hole in my soul. It feels like a plant smothered the earth. The emptiness has affected Donna Rae, your two little boys, sisters and brother, your father, aunts and uncles, grandparents, your work family, your partner (Vino), and especially your mom. I would give anything to switch places with you. My baby boy, even at the age of 29. You'll never, ever, ever, be off of watch as far as I'm concerned. You are my first born son and you've made me so proud of you!!! Now instead of protecting the borders in the USA, now you're protecting the borders of heaven. I love you mucho!!! But miss you even more!!!!!!

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Joey was loved and respected by all at the Sierra Blanca Station. His sense of duty, his willingness to always reach out to others in need, and his pleasant smile will be missed. He lived up to the motto "Honor First" each day. May his memory be for a blessing to all of us.
