Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff John Robert Kotfila, Jr.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over five years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

Deputy Kotfila was working the traffic accident my husband was in late Friday night when he was returning from the hospital from visiting the others who were injured. We were shocked and devastated to hear the news of his untimely passing Saturday morning. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, his HCSO family and all that knew him.

To The Family of Deputy Sheriff John Kotfila, Jr.

Losing someone so close to us is very difficult. May all who are touched from this loss remember what we are told at Revelation 21:3-4. It is comforting to know God will soon remove everything that causes tears of sorrow. Imagine death, pain and suffering being done away with. The only tears that we will have will be tears of joy when we welcome our loved ones back to a paradise earth. What a joy to experience this promise very soon.

My condolences to the family.

John, I'm still in disbelief. I cannot wrap my thoughts around this tragedy. I miss you and was so looking forward to another get together at your place. To answer your reoccurring question, I'm not on the phone :-) Now who's going to annoy me with the question of who I'm talking too? Thank you for all that you did and for how open and generous you were. Since you're in heaven now, give Justin, Mark, and David a hug for me and tell them I think about them all the time. Until we meet again, rest in peace my friend.
