Having been retired from police work for 30 years, I am deeply troubled by th number of fellow brothers. It seems like every day I read where my brothers have been wounded or killed. I feel that our government dosnot have any backbone and lets certain race run our country. You have certain people suck as Rev. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson go into certain towns and get every one all rilled up. Our officers have a right to protect themselves and the public and if that means stopped someone with force to do that , then that is the way it will be.

I encountered Officer Hoffer as he took my statement when I finally got the courage to press charges against my abusive ex. His kindness in those moments will always stay with me. I was quite possibly in my darkest moment and after speaking with him I felt some peace and hope. I am praying for his family, friends, and colleagues. RIP Officer Hofer. I will never forget you.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Chief Bown,

My deepest condolences on the loss of officer Hofer. It seems that we are losing and officer each day and it's has to stop. The dept that I used to work with lost an officer a few years ago who had been my partner. I still miss him. I am retired now but I am blue forever. I can only tell you that you need to stay strong and keep your officers focused but not paranoid. It takes time no matter what anyone tells you it just takes time. BUT, YOU WELL NEVER FORGET OFFICER HOFER NOR WELL I. God Bless you your officers and officers family and fiancé who I'm show is hurting very badly.
