Reflections for Police Officer Ashley Marie Guindon

Remember the fist day on the job, your were excited to have made the team and nervous about being able to live up to the challenge...after all the community is counting on you to make the community safe and to hold so that all can be assured that they will be safe for another day. You envision a long and wonderful career before you as you stand there in that beautiful uniform on which you proudly display the badge of our office. After the command administered the oath, you had the biggest smile on you face as you said, "I do!" No one could have envisioned that the moment you stepped out that door to embark upon your career that it would be your first and last day of your career. We will miss you and the sacrifice that you make. Rest well my sister for you watch has ended. May God watch over you and bring you peace everlasting.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over five years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

No words can ease or even begin to describe the pain that befalls this tragic scene that even plays out just once is bad enough, let alone the frequency in which it now occurs.

Perhaps the saddest part is here is an officer cut down before what I have no doubt was to be nothing short of a promising law enforcement career.

Rest in peace my sister and a safe and speedy recovery recovery to my wounded brothers.
