To the family of Officer Major Greg Barney,
I am sorry for your loss. Greg was an outstanding example of how a Police Officer should be. I have had the pleasure to know Officer Barney and to watch his career in Riverdale area. He was a True Asset to the Clayton County Community. He was assigned to the Riverdale High School where he became a mentor to many of the young minority men who are now young men with families of their own. Thank You Barney for all that you have done for our children. You were a Positive Role Model and Mentor. May the Lord comfort you at this time and May He cary you in the palm of his hand.

Words cannot adequately express what loss we feel when one of our First Responders dies in the line of duty.
Thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, brothers and sisters in arms at Riverside PD, the community and his Navy veterans. Major Barney placed himself in harm's way to protect the community and LEO members with him against an armed and dangerous THUG and did so willingly.
Heaven gained a Warrior Angel who will light and secure our path when our watch is done.
Rest well Warrior Angel Major Greg "Lem" Barney, we have the Watch.
