Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Daniel Shea

Lt. Shea, rest in peace. Perhaps you are related to the Shea family who the stadium was named for.

Lt. Shea,
On today, the 90th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Yonkers.

Lt. Shea, you showed great courage and a toughness I don't know if I ever could. Not only did you chase the suspect after being wounded, you stayed on the job an additional 13 years. You are a true hero to anyone on the job. I can only hope that the filth who killed you served his entire sentence, as meager as it was.

God Bless you and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful, Brother.

My hat is off also to your niece, you helped raise her right, and to the citizens who caught the aforementioned filth. I hope the courage of all participants that day has been passed on and celebrated by every family member who has come after.
