Scott,
You we an example of an agent that wish we all wished we could be. You have touched so many people not only nationally but internationally. Anyone who will be at your funeral will find out exactly how much of an impact You have have left. You were unafraid to make mistakes and have done more in a short career than most agents will accomplish in a full career. Scott, you were personable, quirky and funny as hell. Anyone who has met you was instantly a friend. Although, you had no prior law enforcement experience before taking this position, I would walk through any door with you. You were solid in all aspects of our job. It pains me that you left behind such a beautiful wife and small son but we can never forget them and we will vow to support them in the years to come. We have each other and are a family in the true sense of the word.

We appreciate the outpouring of support from the LE community and cannot thank you enough, brothers and sisters in blue.

Rest in Peace, Scott and we will carry on your work and legacy.

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Scott McGuire was a selfless and dedicated man who was willing to give more than anything else. My memory of him will always remain as a person who would put his family above all else. Scott was constantly helping others around him. I remember Scott painting and building shelves for his wife's business or picking up his son from school after a long day of traveling for work. He made me want to be a better husband and stop complaining about all the things I had to do in my life. Always working hard and never a second to complain about anything. I remember his witty humor that could make a whole room laugh. His sudden departure is a great loss to all of those who new him. I will forever admire the dedication he had to his family and friends and he will remain in my mind forever. A great ambassador to his agency and a role model to all those who serve the community in Law Enforcement. Rest in peace brother. You will never be forgotten.
