My Tuesday radio show is dedicated to Officer Cottrell

May God cup in his hands Officer Cottrell's family, friends and fellow officers and guide them through their grief.

We've seen far too many of our brethren buried lately. May this war on law enforcement end and calm return to this land.

NYPD

My condolences to Officer Cottrell's family, friends, and colleagues of the Danville Police Department. Proverbs 4:16,17 speaks of the evil, "for they cannot sleep unless they do what is bad. They are robbed of sleep unless they cause someone's downfall. They feed themselves with the bread of wickedness, and they drink the wine of violence." We live in such a senseless and loveless world with more and more people not having any regard for life, including those that protect and serve the community. God provides a wonderful hope for Officer Cottrell at John 5:28,29 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." I pray that God's promise for our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death bring comfort to all who knew and loved Officer Cottrell.

Rest in peace my brother. A coward stole your life but not the honor and courage you showed every day at work. Rest in peace.

Rest in peace brother. Your services to the community of Danville will be irreplaceable. I attended your services, and there were Brothers from across the country (Massachusetts State Police have nice uniforms, you would have been impressed.) The sheer quantity of brothers in blue that showed up was simply shocking. Rest easy knowing you have a sea of blue watching over your family, Tom.

I have been where you fear to be,

I have seen what you fear to see,

I have done what you fear to do -

All these things I have done for you.

I am the person you lean upon,

The one you cast your scorn upon,

The one you bring your troubles to -

All these people I've been for you.

The one you ask to stand apart,

The one you feel should have no heart,

The one you call "The Officer in Blue,"

But I'm just a person, just like you.

And through the years I've come to see,

That I am not always what you ask of me; So, take this badge ... take this gun ...

Will you take it ... will anyone?

And when you watch a person die

And hear a battered baby cry,

Then do you think that you can be

All these things you ask of me?

Rest in peace. We will win.
