Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Douglas Scott Barney, II

Rest in peace, Officer Barney. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten by both the citizens of our great state of Utah and your brothers and sisters both here and across the nation. It was a very humbling experience to be part of the funeral procession for you, and it showed me how powerful the thin blue line is. May God continue to watch over your family and your blue family.

Doug,
I have struggled with you being gone and still today it does not seem real. The funeral was beautiful where Chris and Erika described you to a tee. Meeting men and women from around the world to console us in our time of need. They would have loved you and would have loved working with you.
Every shift we share our thoughts, stories and video's of the person you were everyday. You were respected by your colleagues, the citizens you served and even the bad guys. (Bobby)
I will strive to be like you and come to work and honor you everyday. I miss you my friend. 10-42 H10-96K.

Doug, it was Erika that led me here. After she spoke about you always checking this page and paying your respects to those that fell before you, I realized this page should be more frequented. These officers, which sadly now includes you, deserve to be remembered. Stay with your brothers and sisters you left behind, they love you so much, they miss you deeply. We will never allow your family to be alone! We have their 6.
