The greatest of servants are those, like you, who instead of retreating from a threat run to the gunfire to save those who cannot save themselves. In your last moments you left a legacy as a hero and warrior and as an example to your brother and sister officers. My prayers for your family, friends and fellow officers. Rest in peace brother.

I am a police officer who was in Colorado Springs on vacation when this happened. Watching the first responders drive past me in the snow...I can't believe that one of our own would shortly be gunned down by a coward. Rest in peace brother.
