The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

My Brother Ricky Galvez. As a Veteran and Police Officer, you have dedicated your life to the safety, security, and quality of life for all in the communities you had sworn to serve. With dignity and respect and tireless service to them, you made the ultimate sacrifice, as your Military and Police Department Brother. I salute you and mourn the loss we all suffer without you. Rest in peace and God bless you, your Department and your Family.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Police Officer Ricky Galvez and the extended law enforcement family of the Downey, California Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

By Jon F. Hooper

Thank you for your service, hero and may God Bless you. May your eternal rest always be at peace, Brother.

As a Mother , it really ticks me off , the cowards parents raise & unleash on the world. Yes, they contribute to their EVIL !!!
I'm 50 & have watched decades of irresponsible parenting take our children's lives !!!
My Cherokee heart aches for Ricardo's Family, Friends, Department, Community, & Country.
The 9/11 "Purple Heart " Memorial Candles will be lit to Remember Ricardo & Other Fallen Officers.

“Marines”

You can have your Army Kakiis,
And your Navy Blues,
But here’s a different fighting man,
I’ll introduce to you.
His uniform is unlike,
Any you’ve ever seen,
The Germans called him “Devil Dog”,
His title is “Marine”.

He was trained in Parris Island,
The place that God forgot,
The sand was fourteen inches deep,
The sun was blazing hot.
He awakened up one morning,
In front of his rack he’ll stand,
And in through the doorway walked,
A giant of a man.

He turned and faced this young Marine,
With eyes as cold as steel,
He said, “I am your DI,
And this is for real.
I’ll make your life as miserable,
As miserable as I can,
And when you finally leave this place,
You’ll be a fighting man.
You’ll be a rifle expert,
You’ll know your weapon well,
And when you encounter the Viet Cong,
You’ll send their souls to Hell.

Now gather around you young Marines,
And lend me all your ears,
And I’ll tell you of a few things,
We’ve conquered through the years,
We fought at Iwo Jima,
The land of fire and Hell,
We killed all those Japanese,
And took their land as well.

Now you can tell your ladies,
And this my Lad is true,
To get herself a young “Marine”,
There is nothing he can’t do.
He’s peeled a million onions,
And twice as many spuds,
Then you’ll find him in the slop chutes,
A soaking up the suds.

And when he gets to Heaven,
St.Peter he will tell,
Another “Marine” reporting Sir.
I’ve served my time in Hell.

In Honor of your Sacrifice and for your family and friends, I salute you as a HERO! May God
Give the family and friends the strength and faith to deal with this tragic loss. Words can not express my sorrow!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

A tragic loss for mankind. Officer Galvez, you will be missed by all who knew you and all those you served. Thank you for your dedication to protecting the citizens of Downey, as well as the citizens of the United States. As a resident of Downey and a Detective in the Los Angeles Police Department, no words can describe the pain we feel as a Law Enforcement Family. I pray that the three men are punished to the fullest extent of the law and that one day they will rot in the fires of HELL.

To the family of Officer Ricardo Galvez I want to extend my sincere sympathy and grief at the death of your son. I truly know what it feels like to lose a son at a very early age. My son, Traffic Officer Brian M. Law with the California Highway Patrol was taken at a very early age (34) just last year. I read the details concerning your son's passing and was struck by the parallel between your son's life and the life of my boy. Both boys served in the Marine Corp, both of them chose to serve in law enforcement and both of the taken very close to the end of their shift. I felt compelled to let you know that I share your grief and outrage at the passing of your son.
