Not just an officer was lost, she was an amazing person who cared for everyone. She was a co-worker, she was a friend, she was a sister, she was a daughter. She was all of these. And all of these will be truly missed.

She was an inspiration.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Chief of Police Darrell Allen and the extended law enforcement family of the Marlin, Texas Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Darrell Allen was one of the nicest men you could ever meet. He was a friend to many and protector of all. Many of us who worked with Darrell while he was in the Galveston County area truly feel a harder piece of the law enforcement foundation ripped away from us. Darrell will be missed.

To the Allen family....Although he is gone he will never be forgotten.

Deputy Brett Cyr
Harris County Pct 1 Constables Ofc/Friend of Darrell

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not fear even though I know danger is near he maketh me to lie down in green pastures even though sometimes I work in disasters. He leads me beside the still waters we will put our lives on the line to save your sons and your daughters. He restores my soul he's always with me I'm never alone. He leads me in the path of righteousness for his name sake. And when my patrol on earth is done my soul he will take. Yay though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I have the Lords shield along with my vest and the badge of my department pinned on my chest I go out on patrol and do my best to make sure you're safe and you get home I've left my family all alone in hopes after my shift I get to go home. Evil I do not fear because my Lord is always near. He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies anoints my head with oil my cup runneth over surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in heaven where I'll patrol Golden Streets. God Bless you Chief may the Lord give your family, friends and department comfort understanding and knowledge knowing your with him in Heaven patrolling streets of Gold.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
