I hope those who where involved in
the horrible killing of Officer Ellis were held to the full extent of the law. What a heart breaking story and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. As a child my father was an MPO, many years later he went on to special operations in Lorton, Va. I will always have admiration for my father, as well as, those who choose to protect and serve. I pray the Lord wraps his loving arms around Officer Ellis’s surviving children and wife.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Honestly, I didn't know Officer Daniel Ellis, but when I came home from school & mom told me "Officer Ellis passed." It broke me. Every since that day, I've been working harder to achieve my dream of being a police officer.. Officer Daniel Ellis is & always will be my idol...

I didn't know Officer Ellis nor had I ever met him but when I saw on the news the situation that was unfolding for some crazy reason it touched me so much and made me very sad and angry to see and hear the details of the crime. After he was taken to UK I was hoping and praying he would make it. Unfortunately God called him home. So now every time I see Mrs. Ellis and their son it breaks my heart. The tears start flowing. Daniel you are greatly missed and loved by many, you brought peace and light in this cold dark warm. May your light shine forever bright in heaven. Fly high
We will never forget you and one day your son will know who you were and that you died doing what you loved and that you are a hero.

I extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Daniel was killed.

To the Ellis family, fellow officers, and all who call Daniel beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Ellis gave to his community and the citizens of Kentucky , and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 6, 2015.

I have kept up to date on the Officer Ellis since the day he was shot. The day that he passed away my heart was broken for a man I never knew. Even now months later my heart aches for his family and friends. I am so grateful for our men and women in blue who gives their lives to keep us safe. May God Bless all of our men and women in blue. Officer Ellis has impacted my life in ways I can't explained. Thank you Office Ellis.

Officer Ellis, I pray that your family is being comforted by God and has them wrapped in His loving arms.
When I worked at the Seminole County Sheriff's Office in Florida many years ago, a friend of mine was killed in the line of duty and several other deputy friends were injured in the shoot out (On 3rd shift and in the zone I worked as a volunteer Reserve Deputy Sheriff, all are family). I was not on duty that night and I moved to Kentucky when I got the phone call no one ever wants to get but I can tell you that losing one of your own rips a hole in your heart and will always be there. Rest in Peace Brother, you are with God and I know you are with your family.

My heartfelt condolences to Officer Ellis wife, children, family, friends, and colleagues of the Richmond Police Dept. God's word the bible provides some comfort in regards to our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. Revelation 20:12, 13 reads "I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds." Officer Ellis died doing a good deed, because of this, he is a promised a resurrection. I pray God's promise provides comfort to all who knew Officer Ellis.
