Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Senior Patrol Officer Daniel Neil Ellis

Having known Officer Ellis I cannot sufficiently express my condolences to his family, friends, and fellow officers with mere words. He was an exceptional man, an exceptional and dedicated officer, and true asset to the law enforcement community. He will certainly be missed by all that knew him and we will never forget him or the sacrifice that he and his family have made for the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and this great nation. Blue lives do matter. Rest in peace my brother!

As most of us that work as officers, regardless of the uniform color, we have probobly asked ourselves this question many times over - Why Not Me...why not me? And as we ALL know, some questions have no answers. What we, who remain can and should do is remember always - NEVER FORGET! Officer Ellis -God Bless you, you were a HERO, rest now, knowing we will continue what you have begun. God bless the family & coworkers.

Most of us that are in police work have from time to time asked the question - Why Not Me...why not me? As we know so often some questions have no answer. The best we all can & should do is remember, Remember how he lived, Remember his family and coworkers. Be there in their time of need. GOD BLESS YOU MY BROTHER, and understand we will continue your fight for justice. REST IN PEACE.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Richmond Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

Thank you for your service Officer Ellis. My deepest condolences to the family, friends and fellow officers. Almighty God, in your divine love fill the aching void in their hearts with Your comforting presence, and wipe all the tears from their eyes. Reassure them of an internal reunion in Your presence with their beloved, whom You have called to eternal peace and immeasurable joy in heaven. In their loneliness draw them closer to You. We ask this in the name of Jesus who died that we might live forever. Amen.

How sad that the suspect was only wounded, however in Kentucky, I truly believe he will still face the true wrath of the law and do the time he deserves, at least I hope that's the case.

Officer Ellis, thank you for your service and I know God will bless you and watch over your family who have suffered more than anyone due to the actions of a meaningless pile of flesh. So long as they keep you in their hearts and minds, you will never be far from them.

Rest in Peace, Brother.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

This young man reminds me so much of my stepson Wayne, a year older at the time he was killed and only a year more on the job than Wayne. Both so young with young families and so much life ahead of them. They are each Heroes, as are all who have given their lives wearing a badge. I pray his family, friends and the LE Family find some peace through all of this. There is no making sense of a senseless and tragic crime ... Rest in Peace Hero, you will always be remembered. Walk the golden streets of Heaven with every other Hero who so unselfishly gave their lives for their community and its people. God Bless you
