The job that you have done and have done so well will now be carried on by your brothers and sisters. You have carried the weight of the job and can now proudly know that your service to all was done with honor.Your Law Enforcement family will now pick up the staff you carried so proudly and carry it onward. May God be with you, your family and the brothers and sisters who were your friends and comrades. God be with you all.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

My brother,

Brookfield Rd at Decker Blvd. The BP gas station was the last place you and I spoke. The last time I saw you. That was two years ago and now i'm constantly surrounded by pictures and your memory. You and I never imagined this tragedy happening so close to us. Now I'm faced with the reality that it was you. No explanations that I have rolled around in my head make sense of all this but I am grateful for the few years we rode those streets together. Thank you for all the memories brother. Go be with GOD and let us carry on the fight down here. Your friends will take care of Kassy and Sal as you would do for our families. Love you Greg. Miss you. Until we meet again bro...

The world is a little darker today for a loving husband, father, and a fine police officer was laid to rest today. His smile and sense of humor will be missed. Kassy has been amazing during this tragic situation.

I dispatched for Greg for about a year. He was a consummate professional who showed constant dedication, and compassion for all whom he served. Chief Sealy stated it best with; Our hearts are broken. I always loved his kick-ball stories.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over four years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
