Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Good Morning Trooper Smith,

It was 2-weeks ago when I got the chance to meet you on a field trip to the scales. You chatted with us for about 15 minutes, and by the time we left here's what I knew: you meant business, you took your job serious, you enjoyed your job, and you loved your family. I looked over your Facebook page and it's clear that your were liked and loved by many. You had a bright future ahead of you, and your untimely has really moved me. I'm only 2 years older, we both have young kids, married, and our colleges were a few miles ago (I went to ODU). May that Blue Blood continue to flow through your veins.

Prayers to the Smith family.

What could have and should have been a brilliant career has been cut short, but more tragic is that your family has lost you. So long as those who know and love you best keep you in their hearts and minds, you'll never truly be gone and I know you will watch over them always.
