A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Crawford Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

Such a young age to have sacrificed so much in the defense of others.

Heartfelt condolences to your surviving wife, beloved children, extended family and friends, fellow Officer's of the Crawford Police Department and all your brothers and sisters in local law enforcement, the law abiding citizens of Pine Bush and those who support law enforcement in the State of New York, for they have all lost a cherished national treasure.

Thank you for 25 years of faithful service to your community and the American public.

You shall never be forgotten by those who wear the Badge with dignity, pride and restraint...all professionals of the Thin Blue Line.

Rest in eternal peace, Sergeant Meier.

God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights,
bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Lord,
amid the ranks of the holy and the pure,
illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the soul of Eric Meier who went to his eternal place of rest.
May You who are the source of mercy shelter him beneath Your wings eternally,

Sergeant Eric Meier:

Thank you for your 25 years of service to the citizens of Crawford, New York, and to the Crawford Police Department. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God" Matthew 5:9. Let us now celebrate your life and remember your selfless sacrifice. "Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends" John 15:13. However, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! And He [Jesus] said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise" Luke 23:43. Now, my Brother in Blue, rest easy; we will take it from here. "Well done, good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:11. May the Lord God bless you always!
