Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Darren H. Goforth

RIP Brother

Deputy Anita Price
Bexar County Sheriff's Office, San Antonio, Texas

August 30, 2015

Never met this man, nor his family... but everyday he put that badge on, he was part of a bigger family. I am a survivor and fellow Officer from a Sergeant killed in the line of duty. The hurt, the pain will lessen, but never fade. What one must hold onto are the memories, the laughs and the good times of our loved ones. I wanted to just take a moment and say peace to the family and may God above wrap each and everyone of you in his arms. To Deputy Goforth, your duty here is done, we have the watch,,,and we will seek justice for those that seek to do us and you harm. God Bless and may God be with your family.

Officer Chris Holcomb

My heart breaks. In a week that has been so terrible we must stick together, brothers in blue. It is us versus them, good versus evil. Be forever vigilant. Rest in peace brother! Watch over us

May God bless the family of His newest guardian angel, Deputy Darren Goforth. May God give the family strength through this trial and comfort them through this tragic loss. I'm thankful for all the law enforcement officers that risk their lives on a daily basis to protect the citizens of this country. May God strengthen and protect the men and women of Harris County and law enforcement throughout this country. My prayers are with you!

I never had the pleasure to meet Deputy Goforth, but my heart breaks for him, his family, his brothers and sisters in blue, and his community nonetheless. It is an absolute tragedy when such a good man loses his life at the the hands of such a spineless coward. There will never be any reason on earth to justify such violence. I can only hope Deputy Goforth's family can find some sense of peace after this terrible tragedy.

Psalm 23: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

My family and I are so sad and upset about the trend in our society to bash police officers. Our nation is broken and only Jesus Christ can change the messed up minds of individuals. May God protect our officers and comfort those who have lost them.

May the Lord bless the surviving family of Darren Goforth and give them strength and hope during this time. May this incident be a turning point in America for us to clearly see who the bad guys are, challenge them, and silence their influence over such deeds being perpetrated. May those who commit and inspire such acts be convicted of their crimes, may their hearts be shattered into a million pieces with guilt and self-revelation that they should change their evil ways.

To all of the deputies and the Sheriff of Harris County , Texas, I give my deepest condolences to your department on the recent tragic death of Deputy Darin Goforth. It is a tragedy when any law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty. My thoughts and prayers are with your department, Harris County, and the City of Houston as you mourn the loss of a deputy who was shot and killed at a gas station while pumping gasoline into his patrol car. I am sure the suspect who did this will find himself a nice one way trip to death row where all killers of law enforcement officers go after they get convicted of this crime that they have commited. If I were head of a law enforcement agency and I saw such a tragedy like this. I would be one of the many to testify against the perpitrator who shot and killed one of my officers in the line of duty. I am sure his name will be added to the memorial walls in Washington, DC and in Austin, TX along with other officers who died in the line of duty this year.
