Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Darren H. Goforth

Please know that my family and my former colleagues share your grief, and that you are all in our prayers and thoughts. I will stick a Thin Blue Line sticker on every number 8 gas pump at every gas station each time I fuel up as a tribute to Deputy Goforth's service and his memory, and to show solidarity with everyone in law enforcement everywhere. May God comfort and bless you all, and may justice be done.

Deputy Goforth you have walked the walk and talked the talk of being a law man which is something most people never get to do. Police work is a thankless job but we do it because we are special people who think we can make a difference in peoples lives. We do it knowing that is our lives are at risk. We believe our calling came from God and I for one believed it then and I still do. I grieve the loss of a brother who gave his all for no reason. Every stop a police officer makes can be the last stop they will ever make. I pray for your soul and I pray for your family and the brothers in blue you worked with. God said "be still for I am God. I will not leave you or forsake you". God bless you my friend.

Such an atrocious event. All because you stood proud in your uniform; protecting and serving others. You have been taken away from your family, friends, co-workers, and the citizens you served. Taken away by a vicious act of hatred. There is no way to surmise how or why this happened. I pray to God to be with your family each day as they grieve your loss. I pray to God for all those that have been affected by this tragedy. I pray for a more peaceful world to live in with more people who respect all lives; especially the lives of those that have the best interest of others and go to work every day to protect and serve. I pray you rest in peace sir!
