Reflections for Trooper Chad H. Wolf

Trooper Chad H. Wolf will always be remembered.

Retired First Sergeant Thomas Webb
New York State Police - Troop "D"

January 4, 2024

Chad, you and your family are not forgotten. I have a memorial sticker I got made for you on my car, so I think of you every time I drive, and especially your family around the holidays. I continue to preach to people about watching out for motorcycles (all of them) and getting over for Police, tow truck drivers, and frankly anybody on the side of the road. Crazy how its been 8 years already. Was just thinking of you today bud, you are not forgotten by any means.

I am reminded today of how one person can have such an impact on the world around them. You my friend continue to spread the love of Christ to this world even after you have passed onto another.

Thank you for your example!

I had the fortunate please to meet you a few weeks before your passing. I was on I-75 when I saw you running laser on the side of the freeway, when you stowed the laser into the saddlebags and started to catch up said dammit to my wife, he's coming to get me. So as only a cop would do, I pulled over into the rest stop and awaited you. With a big grin you approached the vehicle and asked, "sooooooo what department do you work for, cause only a cop would pull over like that?!"

I'm very glad I had the pleasure of meeting you and chatting for a few minutes. It was obvious you have great pride in being an MSP trooper. Thank you for your sacrifice. Its hard watching the court proceedings without getting choked up and thinking we lost a great man and trooper.

God Speed Trooper Wolf, you will not be forgotten.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Chad was killed.

To the Wolf family, fellow officers, and all who call Chad beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Trooper Wolf gave to his community and the citizens of Michigan , and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on August 28, 2015.

R.I.P. BROTHER Wolf!!!

Nebraska Police Officer

September 14, 2015

In Honor of your Sacrifice and for your family and friends, I salute you as a HERO! May God
Give the family and friends the strength and faith to deal with this tragic loss. Words can not express my sorrow!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
