Rest in peace Deputy Howell, both you and your family will always remain in our prayers. We saw you working tirelessly to make society a better place that was no to be. With tearful eyes we saw God take you to His loving home. Although you worked tirelessly society remains headed in an ever delinquent way. Thus, God made your golden loving heart stop beating and hard working body rest. God broke our hearts to prove to both society and to us, he only takes the best.

Carl, You left us with bravery and likely saved others with your actions. Thank you for your service, both military and law enforcement. You have been one that truly made a difference here.

REMEMBER ME
Perhaps he would tell us:
"I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of that blue fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and hold that blue line. I will continue my watch from above."

REST IN PEACE DEPUTY, AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO US ALL.

The staff of the Silver State National Peace Officers Museum expresses our deepest sympathy to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office family and to the family of Deputy Carl Howell in this horrible time of loss. May you all find comfort in the great good that he did here on earth. His memory lives on in the history of law enforcement.
