While this Officer's life was cut short we must all rest in the assurance that he is in a much better place with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I served for 38 years as a Chicago Police Officer in the highest crime area of the city. I watched many officers there shot and killed, many a friend and one my partner. So I know the value the loss of life a police officer has on his family, children, and his Department. I wish we would apply the death penalty in this country instead of trying to figure out ways not to use it. It works, especially for COP killers. Just look at any country in the Middle East and elsewhere where it is applied and it works. And it shows in their low violent crime rate.

Sergeant (Retired) Gordon Lohrman

I was informed today by one of my cadets, a former partner of yours, of your end of watch. My brother you will be missed and we will not forget you. You gave your life for others and heaven has gained another warrior for peace. Rest in peace my brother, and I pray we meet in heaven to continue to protect the innocent.

The load that a law enforcement officer carries is heavy just as it is hard. You've given all that you have to give, your life. Rest my brother, we will take your watch from here.

May God comfort your family, friends, and fellow officers at this difficult time. The loss of life that sometimes occurs when officers stand up to protect others shows their bravery and how much respect and prayers they deserve.

God bless and protect the Thin Blue Line that protects us all.
